Hosting Controller Service Pack 3 for v.2002 Build 3 (Primary Installer) – December 19, 2002

Hosting Controller Service Pack 3 is a major service pack. It includes landmark introduction of Gateway Open API, many new improvements and bug fixes.

New Features With This Service Pack

• Gateway Open API - Hosting Controller provides an Open API for developers that allow your company to seamlessly integrate your payment gateway in Hosting Controller. Integrating gateway means that your gateway will be visible on front end and your clients will pay their bills through your gateway using Hosting Controller.
  
  How Open API can help you accept online payments for your service:
  
  Open API is a tool that will let you accept payments for your service via the Hosting Controller control panel.
  
  - When your client subscribe to your service, they will be billed automatically according to the terms you dictate, removing the hassle of keeping track of what payments you have and have not received.
  
  - Save time and money with Hosting Controller's hassle-free billing system:

• WorldPay and PayPal Support - Hosting Controller now supports WorldPay and PayPal in addition to Authorize.Net and LinkPoint.

• Ability to Sign-up users on Dedicated IP - Hosting Controller supported both Shared-IP and Dedicated IP based domain creation but previously it was lacking the ability to auto sign-up customers on dedicated IP, therefore this feature is now enabled.
  
  Working: IP is now a plan resource. When customer selects his hosting package, his domain will be created on dedicated IP IF his plan includes IP.
  
  Note: You might need to adjust the value of IP resource in your hosting plans. Click "Plan Manager", click "List My Plans", select your plan and then click on "Edit Resources" to adjust the IP resource value.

• Ability to Add Custom Links to Control Panel Menu - You may now add custom links to the menu that appears on the left in control panel. You may add parent and child menu items pointing to your custom links. To learn more, search the Knowledgebase for keyword "Menu".

Interface Changes

Because of continued development spanning over four years, the Hosting Controller is a feature rich product now. Our main intention now is to make it more user friendly and easy to work with. The service packs will introduce improvements to overall interface and data presentation. The next service pack is considered very important in this regard.

With this service pack, we have improved the billing interface. We have tried to hide advance options from normal user. The "Currency Selection" and "Invoice Options" is moved under "Advance Options" in "Payments" menu. Along with this, many other advance billing related features which were previously hidden or confusing, are now moved under "Advance Options" along with very useful descriptive help on the bottom of each page.

Bug Fixes In This Service Pack

• Fixed a bug in account activation email for MailMax where the e-mail login was not in user@domain.com format.
  
  
• Fixed Simple DNS Restart bug where HC was not restarting DNS when "Restart DNS" option is clicked. This bug was with remote DNS setup only.
  
  
• Folder Security option now allows to give permissions to "Everyone" user also.
  
  
• Plan Details hang-up bug is fixed.
  
  
• "70500200 : Error in editing account" bug if fixed.
  
  
• Fixed "70900290 : Unable to update the record" error. This error is raised when user try to enable Auto Billing but there is no credit card on file.
  
  
• Fixed a bug in MailEnable where domain was not completely getting deleted from MailEnable interface.
  
  
• Fixed a bug where correct number of mail boxes was not set in mail server.
  
  
• Fixed incorrect disk space and bandwidth usage stats on main control panel page.

Additional Notes

The service pack will update auto sign-up scripts. For this purpose, the "reseller\resources\autosignup" folder will also be updated for each resulting. This might result in loss of XSL customization, if there is any.
